Conflict Assignment

What was the context of your scene? What was it about and what characters did you involve?

Our play was about the increasing amount of robberies in our society. Even kids shoplift even though the technology has prevents it. It shows the lack of values in the society and also the increasing about of crime rates around the world. My character was the one who saw the thief shoplifting and was the eye-witness of the crime committed. In the end of the play I was also the cop who took the shoplifters to the police station.

Describe one drama technique (narration, thought-tracking, split-stage, freeze frame etc) that your group used and give an example of how you used it.

We used thought-tracking to show what was the thief thinking before we saw the camera footage and in the end of the play where all the characters showed what they thought about the robbery and their opinions about it. Thought-tracking is when everyone in the play freezes and the characters shared their thoughts a out loud.

Describe how you used your voice (include an example of your dialogue) and body language to show your character.

My character was just generally confused about what was happened in the shop at first but he had seen the thief pt something in the pocket and it was just suspicious. That is why she says 'Did anyone see that?'. Later on she realises that she was right and tells the shopkeeper the she did see him take something from the shop. She is still pretty confused when they start arguing about pointless things and tells them stop and check the security camera. In the end I also am the police who acts like it is nothing new to her ' kids these days...'.

  1. Do you have a photo to go with this post? Does anyone in your group have one they can send you as it serves as great evidence!

  2. Your written work gives me a basic context to your scene and the plot that you wanted to communicate. You have also mentioned the techniques you used and given some examples of how you portrayed your character using voice and dialogue. To get a higher grade you could have developed your answer to explain how successful the thought-tracking technique was, what the characters said, and given further examples of body language that you used to show your characters. 4/8 Criterion D
